Sometime last year, I received a friend request on Facebook from a female I don’t know. We have some mutual acquaintances, and her profile indicates she attended the same university and was in the same program as me a few years ago, so I assume we met at a party or something and accepted the invitation.
Fast forward to July. I move to a new city for a new job, and on the first day, there’s the girl who added me on Facebook. We ended up dating for a few months. It turned out she had added me since one of our supervisors has virtually the same name as me, and she assumed she was adding him to Facebook. Always thought it was a bizarre situation. Growing up, my brothers and I suspected that our father was É¢į“Ź. We’d even make jokes about it on occasion. When I was a teenager, my mother asked me how I thought about É¢į“Ź people in general and how I would react if someone I knew was Źį“į“į“sį“xį“į“Ź. I rolled my eyes and exclaimed, “We know Dad’s É¢į“Ź!” She looked astonished for a second before saying, “No, I am!”
My mind was blownāI would never have known, yet we had always referred to her as “Mom.” After the sh0ck went off (and I hugged her), I inquired about Dad again. She claimed she couldn’t speak for him. He came out a few months later. Ā© Unknown author / Reddit

My brother, Steve, had a fiancĆ©e called Samantha, and they have a son together. Samantha began locking her phone, returning home later, and exhibiting all of the typical indications of a į“Źį“į“į“į“Ź.
She announced one weekend that she would be attending a work function around 250 miles away and would be staying in a motel. My brother Steve became suspicious and contacted the motel room late at night, approximately 1 a.m. A person responded…it was our other brother. Ā© Unknown author / Reddit

I fell in love in high school and became pregnant my senior year. After considerable consideration and counseling, we chose to place our son in an open adoption with a local family. We became close to the family and met up with them several times a year.
After five years of dating and two years of living together, I married my high school love in front of our birth son and his family. Life couldn’t be sweeter!
Plot twist: We’ve been married for 11 and a half years and battling with secondary infertility for the past six and a half. I’m very confident we can’t have any more biological children. Ā© TheGeeksWife / Reddit

I dated a girl for four years, and she essentially lived with me. I ended up helping her build a million-dollar waterfront home (she was a millionaire, and I did all the plumbing). The week I finished her house, Hurricane Sandy struck. When the storm cleared, she dumped me. Two weeks later, I learned she had a new boyfriend.
It turned out she had been seeing someone behind my back for years and had many abortions because she had no idea who the father was. So all of our discussion about living together and having children turned out to be false promises. Ā© Unknown author / Reddit

I met this guy near the internet cafe where I worked. He ended up without a place to reside (aged 16-17). Being a kind-hearted person, I persuade my parents to let him stay at our place. Move forward several months. He’s been depressed for a while and doesn’t have a job or a girlfriend. My parents agreed to get down and speak about what he wanted to accomplish with his life. So they start asking him questions about his family, where he’s lived, and so on. When he mentioned his grandparents’ house, my mother shouted out her name (which I don’t recall). He’s like, “You know my grandma?”… she starts to tell us that she’s my grandmother’s sister that we donāt see too often. Ā© gentlemens_rite / Reddit

My now-ex husband was having an į“ŅŅį“ÉŖŹ with a woman on his UPS route and making no effort to hide it. So the vengeful me began an į“ŅŅį“ÉŖŹ straight back. Little did I know he was with his mistress’ fiancĆ©/baby daddy. But the dramatic twist is that the woman and my ex-husband are now married. Keeping it all inside the family. Ā© KelliC0110 / Reddit

I was happily engaged to a beautiful person until he went to OCS this summer, was hurt, returned home early, and changed. He came back as a different person. While he was away, I became very close to a classmate of mine. I was at home recovering from jaw surgery, and he spoke to me all day.
He became my best buddy, but I never considered him attractive. After all, I was happy to be engaged. To keep a long story short, my fiancĆ© and I grew apart, split up, and married my closest friend last month. I never saw it coming. We scarcely knew each other until May. Ā© temple_noble / Reddit

Backstory: I was in love with my closest buddy for a long time, but something always got in the way, whether it was my SO or his. We dated once, but it didn’t go well. I was going to a party with a common buddy, and he informed me that my closest friend was going to propose to this girl I couldn’t stand that night. He told me where he was going to propose, so I dashed there to stop him and declare my love for him, you know how it goes.
When I get up there, I see that he has everything set up; candles, rose petals, the NYC skyline, everything that would make a girl melt. I pick up a piece of paper he had placed on the ground, read it, and when I look up, heās down on one knee, proposing to ME. Ā© IZ3820 / Reddit
