A husband and wife were in bed, getting comfortable and leaning in for a little romance, when the wife suddenly pushed him away. She sighed and said, “Actually, honey, I don’t really feel like it tonight. Could you just hold me close instead?”
The husband, clearly frustrated, groaned and threw his hands up. “What?! Why can’t we ever just have some fun? Why does it always have to be a negotiation?”
The wife snapped back, “This is so typical of you! You only think about one thing. You have absolutely no idea what it’s like to be a woman, and you just don’t understand my emotional needs!” She then dramatically turned her back to him, pulled up the blanket, and went straight to sleep.
The next day, the husband woke up feeling a bit guilty about his reaction and decided to make it up to her. He smiled and said, “Tell you what, sweetie. Let’s go to the luxury mall today. Pick out whatever your heart desires!”
They headed straight to a high-end designer boutique, where the wife tried on several stunning outfits. As she stood in front of the mirror struggling to choose between them, the husband waved his credit card and said, “Don’t stress, darling. Take them all!” She was absolutely thrilled, squealing with delight and throwing her arms around his neck.
Next, they strolled over to the jewelry section. She was admiring a delicate pair of diamond earrings, but the husband shook his head and said, “Let’s do better than that!” He pointed to the display case and ordered a diamond tennis bracelet worth twice as much.
Feeling like she was having the most magical, perfect day of her life, she walked proudly beside him to the cashier’s desk. The clerk scanned the mountain of designer clothes and the diamond bracelet, wrapping everything in beautiful tissue paper and placing them into luxury shopping bags.
Just as the cashier was about to swipe the credit card, the husband suddenly held up his hand. He looked the cashier dead in the eye and said, “Actually, we’ve changed our minds. Could you just put all of these items back on the shelves?”
The wife gasped, her jaw dropping in absolute horror. “What on earth are you doing?! What is going on?”
The husband turned to her with a serene, peaceful smile and replied:
“You actually thought I was buying all this? No, I just wanted you to hold them for a little while. Now you know exactly how I felt last night!”
