A Japanese method that promises to get rid of belly fat and improve posture using just a bath towel has taken the internet by storm.
Created by Japanese doctor Toshiki Fukutsudzi, the simple exercise involves lying on your back with a rolled up towel placed directly under your waist where your spine curves for just five minutes a day.
The reflexology and massage specialist claimed the method can strengthen the core muscles, overcome bad posture, reduce back pain and shrink the waist.

All you have to do is roll a bath towel tightly into a log, about seven to 10cm thick, sit down on a fitness mat and then stretch your legs out in front of you.
Next, gently lie your back over the towel and ensure your feet are placed shoulder-width apart, with your toes touching each other.
Raise your arms above your head with palms facing down and pinky fingers touching each other. Now hold this position for up to five minutes.
Once your time is up, gently sit up.
Weight loss app Demic suggested scratching your head to the back of the ear with your fingers several times during the method. If this causes pain, keeping scratch your head until the tension reduces.
Demic shared a video on Facebook claiming you can see results after 30 days if you do the five-minute exercise every day.
Dr Fukutsudzi who specialises in treating pelvic bone and back problems had introduced the method to patients with bad posture or chronic pain – but after 10 years of research, he found the exercise could lead to weight reduction.
