Compelling evidence of our rapid decline can be found in the way humans communicate.

It’s not rare that we come across stories where individuals express their faith in humanity being restored, which makes such occurrences a cause for celebration when they do happen.

These brief stories reflect the current era we live in, and they do not make contribution to strengthening our faith in humanity; instead, they tend to undermine it.

I’m sure you’ll find them amusing, as they are not only absurd but possibly based on real-life events you may have encountered yourself.

*At McDonald’s, my husband and I used the drive-thru, and I handed the cashier a $5 bill for our $4.25 total.

To simplify the change, I also gave her an additional 25 cents.

To which she remarked that I had given her too much money.

I replied, ‘I am aware, but it makes it easier for you to just give me one dollar back.’

After sighing, she fetched the manager, who requested me to restate my inquiry.

I complied, and he returned the 25 cents, explaining that they couldn’t fulfill such requests.

Subsequently, the cashier gave me 75 cents as change.

Remember, don’t confuse the staff at McDonald’s.

*We needed to fix our garage door.

and the repairman pointed out that one of the issues was having an insufficiently ‘large’ motor on the opener.

I mentioned that we already had the largest one available at that time, a 1/2 horsepower.

Surprisingly, he disagreed, saying we needed a 1/4 horsepower motor instead.

I tried to explain that 1/2 is indeed larger than 1/4, but he insisted that four is greater than two.

Needless to say, we didn’t hire that repairman again.

*I reside in a semi-rural region.

And our new neighbor contacted the city council office to have the DEER CROSSING sign on our road taken down.

Their rationale was that there were too many deer-vehicle collisions.

And they believed it wasn’t a suitable area for the deer to cross anymore.

*While at a Mexican fast-food restaurant.

My daughter ordered a taco and requested ‘minimal lettuce.’

The person behind the counter apologized, explaining that they only had iceberg lettuce.

During my check-in at the airport gate, an airport employee inquired,

*”Has anyone secretly placed anything in your baggage?”

I responded with a question,

If it was done without my knowledge, how would I be aware of it?

He smiled knowingly and affirmed,

That’s precisely why we ask.

*The pedestrian signal at the corner emits a beeping sound when it’s safe to cross the street.

While crossing with a co-worker who has intellectual challenges,

She inquired about the purpose of the beeped I clarified that it helps blind individuals know when the light is red.

To my surprise, she exclaimed, What are blind people doing driving?!

It’s worth noting that she is a government employee.

*When my wife and I reached the car dealership to collect our vehicle after servicing.

we were informed that the keys had been accidentally locked inside.

We proceeded to the service department where we found a mechanic diligently attempting to unlock the driver’s side door.

While observing from the passenger side, I instinctively tried the door handle and realized that it was already unlocked.

I exclaimed to the technician, “Hey, it’s open!” To my surprise, he replied, “I know.I already took care of that side.”
