Have you ever made the error of placing any of these things in the Washing Machine?

1. Blankets

This may make them shrink and ruin their smooth texture. Dry or spot cleaning is the best way to go when you want to keep your throw blankets in top condition.

2. Pet Hair Covered Items

Pet hair can easily stick to your clothes after you pick up or pet your kitty or pup. But remember that clothes covered in pet hair should never go into the washing machine because the hair might end up clogging the drain pipes.

Before inserting the items into the machine, use a lint roller.

3. Pillows with Memory Foam

Due to memory foam’s open-cell structure, pillows will soak up moisture like a sponge. The water-logged pillows tend to shatter once put into the spin cycle. Spot cleaning memory foam pillows will extend their lifespan.

4. All-Natural Fabrics

Suede, leather, silk, and velvet can lose their natural beauty after only one wash, while cashmere and wool are prone to shrinking in both the washing machine and dryer.

You should avoid machine washing natural fabrics to prevent them from getting damaged.

5. Coins

Every day, loose coins find their way into pockets. Coins rolling around the washing machine not only produce a loud noise, but tiny metal particles can get past the filter and harm the drain pipe.

6. Rubber-Backed Mats

Mats with rubber backing, such as those used to wipe your feet as you enter the house, might degrade in the washing machine.

Rubber fragments could bypass the filter and harm the pump.
