John Schneider, who played Bo Duke on The Dukes of Hazzard from 1975 to 1985, has three weddings under his belt.
He recently married his long-term partner, Alicia Allain.
John’s protracted divorce from his second wife, Elvira “Elly” Schneider, posed an early legal stumbling block in their relationship. Despite this, they married on September 25, 2019, in a romantic ceremony at John Schneider Studios in Holden, Louisiana.
Reflecting on their special day, Alicia expressed joy, calling it a “sanctuary of love,” while John remarked, “Happy is too small a word.”
Tragically, their wedded bliss was cut short when Alicia passed away in February 2023, aged 53, surrounded by her family.
Following Alicia’s death, John rushed to Facebook to express his grief, writing (via People): “My beautiful smile is pain-free, living in her new body alongside Jesus.”
After previously discussing Alicia’s battle with breast cαncєr, John revealed her diagnosis of stage 4 HER2 negative 𝖈𝖆𝖓𝖈𝖊𝖗.
Six months later, John made his first public appearance since Alicia’s death, declaring in a sad July 2023 interview with the Daily Mail that her dєαth will inspire “remarkable, great things.” Tearfully, he stated his desire to assist others in dealing with grief while conceding that he would never fully recover from her passing.
As part of his healing process, John channeled his emotions into his music, composing a new album titled We Are Still Us in honor of Alicia. He discussed his grieving journey during a public appearance at the “Drinks With Dee Dee” cabaret show in Hollywood, where he shared his plans to pay tribute to their shared love for music.
Although writing on the album brought him mixed emotions because he and Alicia frequently cooperated on music, John was determined to commemorate her legacy musically. He joyously announced the completion of the album We’re Still Us, which he considers his best effort to date.
Despite the anguish of working on the project without Alicia, John is determined to keep her memory alive. He frequently shares messages to her online as a daily practice to connect with her in spirit, and he admits that he writes letters to Alicia every day.
