Kensington Palace Issues Major Update On Kate Middleton

Kensington Palace has shared an important update regarding the Princess of Wales as she remains in recovery from her cancer treatment.

The statement was released today, September 8, a date that also marks three years since Queen Elizabeth II’s passing at Balmoral.

Kate Middleton, 42, publicly disclosed her cancer diagnosis in March 2024, after weeks of online speculation surrounding her noticeable absence from royal engagements.

In an emotional video statement at the time, she explained:

“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”

Since then, the Princess has shared occasional updates, speaking openly about the challenges of treatment and recovery while stepping back from public duties.

Today, Kensington Palace confirmed that Kate will join Prince William at an event celebrating the life and legacy of Queen Elizabeth II. Initially, the Prince of Wales had been scheduled to attend the commemoration alone.

The update signals a cautiously positive step in Kate’s health journey as she gradually resumes select royal engagements.

In the mean time, Prince Harry has also returned to the U.K. today for the WellChild Awards, an event he has long supported as patron.

This is a developing story. More updates will follow.
