A toddler has melted hearts across TikTok after his mum shared a video explaining how he packed his bags before bed one night as part of a plan to visit his dad in ‘heaven’ the following day.
The little boy’s mum Ashley posted a video on her TikTok account detailing the conversation she had with her son about his plans to see his dad who passed away suddenly in 2020, leaving behind two kids. The video was viewed by over four million people.
“Mum can you put my bag out, I got a big trip tomorrow. I’m going to heaven and don’t peak , just have it ready for me,” the little boy told his mum when he handed her a ready packed Spiderman bag before he went to bed for the night.
It can be seen in the video that the US mum asks him to forgive her because she needed to “break that promise” and open the bag to see he had packed to visit his father.
The emotional mum begins to unpack the bag to see what her son wanted to take along with him. At the top was an all important superhero outfit: “Assuming he is saving the world from heaven,” the mum said.
After that, she pulls out a whistle and his new baseball gloves that he is obsessed with.
When pulling out the next item however, the mum is overcome with emotion and breaks down in front of the camera.
The toddler had packed his father’s old wallet which the family still keeps intact with family photos inside. In adition, he packed the new wallet his father was gifted for Christmas the year before he passed.
The little boy also packed his father’s cologne. His mum pulls it out of the bag and gives it a smell to remind herself of the signature scent her late husband used to wear.
Ashley holds back tears when explaining how much these items mean to her and how sweet her son is to pack these with him.
In the end of the video, she says, “The craziest part is when they would go on little fishing trips they would bring me back flowers they would pick, and I bet tomorrow he will do the same.”

The bittersweet video left the millions of viewers also in tears and many people left their comments:
“I just want to hug you both! I’m crying like a baby!” Another said, “You son so deserves that visit. This made me a 40 yr old man cry. Protect his heart forever.”, one woman commented.
Ashley has been overwhelmed with the amount of support she’s received from users after posting the video, “I never in a million years expected this to go viral.”
She then uploaded another video thanking all of her followers and thanking the platform for allowing her to share her story, “I met a lot of grieving widows who have no idea but they saved my life.”
Ashley told her followers that her husband would have turned 37 this month by posting a Happy Birthday video on her page with the message “Raising them without you isn’t the same. Happy Birthday in Heaven!”
