My Son’s Stepmom Is Refusing to Do His Laundry

My 8-year-old son, Ed, stays at his dad’s place for two weeks every two months. He has soccer practice daily after school.

Yesterday, I received a call from his teacher reporting an unpleasant odor coming from Ed and noting that his clothes were dirty.

Panicked, I immediately called my husband to understand what was going on.

It turns out his wife is refusing to do my son’s laundry. He said, “It’s not like you’re the victim here; my wife isn’t supposed to do extra laundry on top of the washing and cleaning she does for us here.”

To my horror, he added, “I told you to stop feeding Ed so many spices; he’s even asking us to use those spices you’re sending in the dishes we make here, and it’s making his sweat smell even worse.”

I was furious. I sent my son with a few changes of clothes, but I couldn’t pack enough for a whole two weeks!

As the dad and stepmom, I expect them to take care of Ed when he’s at their home, yet they are putting the blame on spices and me! What should I do?
