Plumber took job at sickness 91-year-old’s home, and his invoice is now going viral

A plumber from the British town of Burnley, has gained Internet stardom after a receipt for one of his jobs went viral.

James Anderson, originally from Liverpool, is being praised for his £0 bill sent to a 91-year-old woman with leukemia.

The bill, initially shared on Facebook by the woman’s daughter, Christine Rowlands, was accompanied by the message: ‘No charge for this lady under any circumstances. We will be available 24 hours to help her and keep her as comfortable as possible.’

Anderson insists that she will have “free plumbing for life.”

But this is not a first act of kindness for Anderson.

He has been deeply moved by the many cases of neglect and the kind of treatment people give to the elderly. So he decided to take proactive steps to help the many who desperately need his expertise but cannot afford it.

James closed his private business in 2017 and went ahead to start Depher. Depher is a non-profit company whose main goal is to provide low-cost or free duct or boiler installation, maintenance and repair services to people who normally cannot afford them. If claims to have helped and assisted thousands of people.

“It got me thinking about other elderly and vulnerable people — we need to do something more to help the people who need it most,” Anderson said.

“A lot of elderly and disabled people don’t like asking for assistance and if they can’t afford something like fixing the boiler, they might not do it and get into trouble. We are there to take that worry away.”

He hopes that, by lowering the cost, people can use the saved money in other important areas of their life and help “keep their independence.”

Anderson acknowledged that he couldn’t always provide a free service if the funding wasn’t there and said at times it had been a “struggle.”

The world is truly in need of people like James who strive to put the needs of others before their own. You may be amazed that this form of kindness has put James in a great deal of debt. His dept. has risen to about $9,940, but he believes it is nothing compared to the happiness of those he helps.

“It’s an ethos that’s in my heart and it will always stay there.”

Just recently, he decided to ask others to be part of his company so that the most vulnerable citizens get the help they desperately need.

He had spoken to quite a few engineers around the country and they are all for it…it’s just getting the funding.

“I don’t want any person who is elderly and disabled in this country, in this day and age, to die or suffer because of a cold home or a lack of funding to repair the boiler.”

Since his bill went viral, many people have become familiar with his work and James has managed to raise $100,000 in donations. He is no longer struggling to keep his non-profit work going.

James is really a very warm-hearted. Nowadays, it is very rare to meet someone who puts the happiness of others above his own, but James is proof that such people exist and make this world a much better place.
