She assumed the dog was full of ʙɪᴛᴇs, but the vet looked closely and called the police.

Unfortunately, many people should never be permitted to own or interact with animals.

Hayden Howard noticed anything wrong with her dog about some year ago.

Her English Mastiff, Jackson, had been playing in the backyard while she was inside. When she called him in, it appeared like he was covered in insect bites.

But as she peered closer, she discovered the truth was much worse.

Jackson was actually covered in bullet holes.

“I was completely sʜᴏᴄᴋᴇᴅ, I didn’t know what to think,” Hayden told WXIN.

When she learned Jackson had been sʜᴏᴛ, she immediately took him to the veterinarian. When the vet inspected Jackson, he discovered masses of tiny bullets shot from a BB ɢᴜɴ.

“There was one stuck under his eyelid, one in his ear, one in his knee, they were everywhere,” Hayden recounts.”Jackson was actually covered in bullet holes.

There were so many that the vet had to cut nearly all of Jackson’s fur to remove the plastic shells. He extracted 27 bullets in total, but had to leave 20 where they were.

Additionally, the vet discovered 20 more bullet holes in Jackson’s little body.

He had been shot more than 70 times.

“I have never seen an animal sʜᴏᴛ that many times. It’s a very bad case and it’s sad to see,” Seymour Police Department Assistant Chief Craig Hayes stated.

I don’t understand how someone could be so horrible to a dog, especially when the dog has never harmed anyone.

The sʜᴏᴛs were alleged to have come from a nearby yard, and police were pursuing the perpetrator.

It didn’t take long before they discovered ammo and a rifle hidden in a neighbor’s house.

In addition to a BB ₲Ʉ₦ and pellets, authorities discovered methamphetamine and ᴅʀᴜɢ ᴘᴀʀᴀᴘʜᴇʀɴᴀʟɪᴀ inside his residence, according to the Daily Mail.

I sincerely hope the individual involved receives a lengthy prison sentence and pays the consequence for their ᴄʀɪᴍᴇ.

I genuinely feel that after they are released, they should never be able to come into contact with another animal again.

Despite his major trauma, Jackson is doing well, according to Hayden.

Watch the following news report about the incident:

Although some news sites refer to BB and pellet ɢᴜɴs as “toys” or “fakes,” they are genuine weapons capable of causing serious harm.

A ᴄʀɪᴍᴇ committed with a BB or pellet ɢᴜɴ should be treated as such. It is a genuine ɢᴜɴ, and ᴄʀɪᴍɪɴᴀʟs who use it against the innocent should be penalized accordingly.

I truly hope Jackson returns to full health soon and can play happily in his backyard again.
