When Amanda learned about Bear, an abandoned, lost dog in Evan’s Creek’s mountains, she resolved to take quick action.
Together with her companion Dylan, they set out to find the lonely puppy.
Amanda and Dylan tried for more than an hour to persuade Bear with food and treats, but their plan failed.
When they returned the next day, Bear was still in the same location. They attempted again to persuade him to come closer so they could assist him, but in vain.
That’s when the girls came up with an extremely unique concept.
They decided Amanda would lie down and ‘play ᴅᴇᴀᴅ’, pretending she was in need of assistance.
Said and done. The next day, Amanda lay down on the ground near where she assumed Bear was.
And what happened two hours later warmed the hearts of thousands of our animal pals.
It all started when a driver saw a dog at a campsite in Evans Creek, Washington State.
The puppy appeared afraid and starved. The dog became hostile as the driver attempted to approach him.
A few days later, a girl called Amanda became aware of the wild dog known as Bear.
Amanda and her friend Dylan decided to try and save the dog by taking him to an animal hospital.
They attempted to entice Bear with sweets, but to no avail. The dog was still too suspicious to approach humans.
Amanda decided to attempt a slightly different technique.
She lied down in the fetal position and pretended to be ᴅᴇᴀᴅ .
And shortly, Bear appeared to embody the spirit of assistance.
He approached Amanda and sniffed at her for 20 minutes before losing interest and leaving.
But Amanda refused to give up. One hour later, he returned. This time, he just sat alongside Amanda.
Amanda gained Bear’s trust during the following two hours, and he was confident that she had no bad intentions.
He followed her to the car, and they drove off to the vet.
Bear ultimately received the assistance he sorely required, due to these incredible animal pals that refused to give up on him.
Lost & Found Pets, an animal welfare organization in Washington, attempted to identify the dog’s owner, but was unsuccessful.
Fortunately, a family reached out and indicated their want to adopt Bear, so he now has a wonderful home!
