I was chatting with a woman at a bar when I decided to buy her a drink.
“Can I buy you a drink?” I asked.
She smiled and said,
“Do you have a girlfriend?”
I shook my head.
“Not anymore. We broke up about a month ago.”
She looked sympathetic.
“Oh, I’m sorry to hear that.”
Then she smiled.
“Well, in that case, I’ll have a glass of white wine.”
A few drinks later, we hit it off, shared a kiss, and eventually ended up back at her place.
The next morning, while I was getting dressed, she smiled and said,
“You’re handsome, you’re charming, and you’re surprisingly good in bed.”
She paused.
“So tell me… why on earth did you and your girlfriend break up?”
I looked at her, sighed, and said,
“Because my wife found out.”
She stared at me.
I stared at her.
The bartender’s “single” special suddenly made a lot more sense.
