A man was walking along a lonely beach when he kicked a dusty old brass lamp. He picked it up, rubbed it, and to his amazement, a powerful genie erupted from the spout in a cloud of smoke.
The genie boomed, “I am the spirit of the lamp! For freeing me, I will grant you exactly one wish.”
The man thought about it and said, “I absolutely hate flying, but I love riding my motorcycle. I wish for you to build a massive, paved highway spanning all the way from California to Hawaii so I can ride there whenever I want.”
The genie shook his head in disbelief. “Are you crazy? Do you know the sheer logistics of that? The ocean is miles deep, the amount of concrete needed would completely destroy the global ecosystem, and the steel supports would ruin the marine habitat! It’s an environmental nightmare. Please, ask for something else—anything within the realm of reason.”
The man sighed, thought for a moment, and said, “Alright, fine. I wish to completely understand how women think. I want to know exactly how they feel, why they cry over nothing, what they mean when they say ‘I’m fine,’ and how to make them truly happy.”
The genie stared at the man in stunned silence for a long moment, rubbed his temples, and finally muttered:
“So… did you want that highway to be two lanes or four?”
