On the first day of Jack and Lily’s marriage, Jack’s father gave him some advice.
“Son, every house needs a leader. Show your wife you’re the boss.”
Jack nodded confidently and marched inside.
He slammed his hand on the table and declared, “Lily! From today on, I’m the king of this house! My word is law!”
Lily slowly turned around, silently picked up a heavy rolling pin, and walked toward him.
Without another word, Jack bolted out the door and climbed to the top of the backyard mango tree.
His father looked up and shouted, “Jack! Get down and face your wife like a man!”
Jack clung to the branch and yelled back,
“No chance! A king should always inspect his kingdom from the highest point!”
Moral: Being the king is easy… staying on the throne is the hard part.
