A husband and wife came up with a secret code so their curious five-year-old daughter wouldn’t interrupt them whenever they wanted a little quiet time together.
They agreed that whenever one of them wanted some privacy, they’d simply say, “I need to use the typewriter.”
One evening, Dad smiled and said, “Sweetheart, could you tell Mommy that Daddy needs to use the typewriter?”
The little girl skipped off and returned a moment later.
“Mommy says the typewriter is busy right now.”
Dad shrugged and went back to watching TV.
A few days later, Mom told her daughter, “Go tell Daddy the typewriter is available now.”
The little girl happily ran to Dad and came back laughing.
“Daddy said that’s okay…”
“He already finished his letter on the computer!”
The parents exchanged a quick glance…
