The Young Heroes: 12 Kids and a Dog Recognized for Their Crime-Busting Deeds

Any child can be a hero, due to the group of “human arrow” kids who led police to robbers during our grand excursion!

The teenagers, known as the “Tremendous Twelve,” rose to prominence online after they cleverly built a human arrow to point a police aircraft to two fleeing burglars. In addition, they traveled with their trusty dog, Molly, a Yorkshire terrier named after Enid Blyton’s novel characters.

The children, who talked to The Mail on Sunday for the first time about their remarkable experience, said yesterday: “We feel really proud – it was awesome.”

When they saw the helicopter circling, they were on an Easter egg search in a field near Capel, Surrey. Their ages ranged from six to twelve.

“It was really noisy, and we could see it said “police” on the bottom,” a nine-year-old girl recalled. Then we noticed a man racing along the field’s edge. The man was seen removing his jumper and wrapping it around his head.

They were attempting to yell at the pilot, she continued.

She went on to say that despite their yelling and screaming for the chopper to turn toward the man, it was actually pointing in the opposite direction.

Two of my friends then said, “Let’s get into an arrow,” and we positioned ourselves on the ground.

The kids saw the helicopter coming after resting in the mud for about a minute.
