Two Men, One Camel… and a Very Bad Idea 🐪
Two men were preparing to cross a vast desert. Lacking the money for a car, they bought a camel instead.
Before leaving, the seller gave them one important instruction:
“Make sure the camel drinks plenty of water before the journey. It stores water for the desert.”
They nodded seriously.
Later, they led the camel to a river.
“Alright,” said the first man, rolling up his sleeves, “let’s make sure it drinks enough.”
They tried guiding the camel to the water. It resisted.
They pushed gently. Still nothing.
After a while, the second man frowned, thinking hard.
“I’ve got an idea,” he said confidently.
The first man looked relieved. “Good. What is it?”
“Well… think about how a siphon works,” the second man explained. “If we can’t get water in from the front… maybe we can… encourage it from the system itself.”
The first man blinked. “The system?”
“Yes,” the second man said, now fully committed. “We create… pressure.”
A few minutes later, their “experiment” was underway.
After a long pause, the first man finally asked:
“So… is it working?”
The second man slowly stepped back, wiped his mouth, and said:
“Well… technically, yes… something is moving.”
Pause.
“…but I think we misunderstood the direction.”
