Why Prince Harry received massive gift from the Queen Mother beyond the grave

Last year, Prince Harry obtained a pretty colossal sum of money from the Queen Mother from beyond the grave.

Before the Queen Mother passed away in 2002 at the grand old age of 101 – 20 years before her daughter Queen Elizabeth II passed away in 2022 – she put a number of things in place to make sure her family inherited her astonishing fortune.

According to The Times, when he turned 40 years old back in September 2024, because of such adjustments, one particular member of the royal family obtained quite large chunk of inheritance from his great-grandmother.

Probably one of the priciest birthday presents, it’s obvious that Harry inherited more than just family heirlooms as he was given a fraction of the Queen Mother’s recorded fortune of £70 million, which she placed into a trust fund for her family.

According to reports, the father-of-two obtained a whopping £7 million share of the riches when he hit the milestone birthday.

He also reportedly received a larger share of the extremely high inheritance pot than his older brother, Prince William, because of the financial arrangements within the family.

Following furious media scrutiny and described tensions within the royal family, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, published in January 2020 that they would ‘step back’ from being senior royals which soon prompted Buckingham Palace to assume that the couple would: no longer use HRH (His/Her Royal Highness) titles.

In April of that same year, Harry and Meghan – who had already welcomed Archie the year prior in 2019 – moved to to Los Angeles, California, and later settled in Montecito, Santa Barbara, ahead of welcoming Lilibet to the family in 2021.

In April, he shared that his ‘worst fears have been assumed’ during the Court of Appeal case to refresh his UK security, declaring that the downgrade of his protection was a thoughtful effort to prevent him from returning and forcing him out of the royal family.

He also insisted that his father King Charles ‘won’t speak to me because of this security stuff’ and said he ‘can’t see a world’ in which he’d return to the UK with Meghan and their two children.
